Teresa Lea Sweaney Roberson, 57, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 in Weatherford.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Alexander’s Midway Chapel.
Teresa was born June 22, 1958 to Thomas and Nina Wright Sweaney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and son, Giovanni Pugrad.
Survivors include children, Jennifer Roberson-Williams, Arin Roberson and fiance, Heidi and Thomas Belt; sister, Dana; and two grandchildren. Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home, Springtown, 817-677-2634.

Deborah Kay Brown, age 59, of Greenville, Texas, passed away Feb. 15, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb., 22, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Rd., Rockwall, Texas, with Father James Joseph officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Deborah was born Dec. 11, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Albert and Veronica (Journey) Parker. Deborah attended the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Azle, Texas. She was salutatorian at Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma, and she received her Bachelors from Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Deborah loved to read and sew, and she enjoyed riding the bike with her husband. She was a perfectionist, funny and intelligent. She was thoughtful, selfless and very humble. Deborah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother Veronica Parker; and sisters, Kathleen Parker and Karen Real.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Daniel Brown; daughter, Amie Stacy and husband John; grandchildren, Jude, Gabriel and Luke; father, Albert Parker; brothers, Scott and Brian Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cassidy Michelle Zips, 18, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 S. Stewart, Azle 76020. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Cassidy was born in Arlington on Oct. 21,1997 to Kenny Zips and Jaquelyn Lair. She was a senior at Azle High School and was to graduate this year, 2016. Cassidy enjoyed Law Enforcement Class and was looking forward to a career in law enforcement. She loved to watch basketball games and had a weird obsession with her truck “Fonzi”.
Survivors include mother, Jackie Lair; father, Kenny Zips; brother, Justin Zips; sister, Shelby Zips; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Martha Ann Chambers, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Springtown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Ann was born in Corsicana. She was a nurse for many years. She also enjoyed being a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness for many years.
Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Chambers; and father, J.C. Bristow.
Survivors include son, James “Tim” Chambers (Diane) of Azle; sister, Betty Gheen of Denton; sister, Lola Bleeker of California; and many nieces and nephews.

John Scallan 1939 – 2016

John Joseph Scallan, 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Services were held Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Community Church in Aledo under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home. Interment was in Strong Memorial Cemetery, Slocum.
John was born to the late Cleve John Scallan of Pineville, Louisiana and Rose Ellen VanAckeran of Seattle, Washington in 1939. He was the third of five children, Jerry, Anne, Morris, and Richard. John grew up hunting and riding horses with his friends from Catholic school.
He joined the Army/National Guard, later moving to Fort Worth for a fresh start. There he met the love of his life, Brenda Garrison, whom he married in 1967. While raising three children, Cliff, Angela, and D’Jauhn, John joined the Air Force Reserves and worked for the 301st Division at Carswell Air Force Base. Due to a life altering illness, John retired in 1998 and he stayed home to care for Brenda until her death in 2015. John was completely devoted to God, his wife, and his children. He loved old country and bluegrass music, hunting, and his “dumplin’ pup” TeeShau.
Survivors include son, Cliff Scallan and wife, Jana of Azle; daughters, Angela Munday and husband, Tom of Azle, and D’Jauhn Cross and husband, Matt of Azle; adopted daughters, Lita Vasquez and Michele Briggs; grandchildren, Jennifer Gil and husband, T.J., Heather Reyff and husband, Doug, Jessica Valentine and husband, Miller, Coy Goodson, Julia, Corrine, and John Ethan Cross, and Eathan Blackman; great-grandchildren, Talan Gil, Ellie Reyff, Everett and Everly Valentine; and a host of friends.

Patricia Ann Lee (Mimi), 70, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 while surrounded by loved ones in Dallas, Texas.
The family had a celebration of her Home Going on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 to honor her wishes.
Patricia was born June 6, 1945 in Bakersfield California to Ronald Carl and Jeanne (Whittenton) Heartsill. She spent the last 16 years working on the prayer line for DayStar Television, fulfilling her calling of praying for others.
Patricia was loved by many and seldom met a stranger, her personality was huge and she was a selfless person willing to do anything she could to help others.
She will be greatly missed, but, we are sure she was welcomed into heaven by her parents, grandsons Juanathan Perez of Springtown, Texas; Jeremy Evans of Rhome, Texas and other loved ones that have gone ahead of her.
Survivors include her three children; son Hoyt Evans of Mannford Oklahoma; daughter Cynthia and husband Bert Little of Springtown; son Victor Lee of Springtown; grandchildren Raul, Joshua, Michael, Justin, Kassandra, Kurt, Krystal, Kiel and many great- grandchildren.

James Wood Gregory, 78, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home, Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in Springtown.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at White’s Funeral Chapel in Springtown. Visitation was 5 – 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Interment was at Springtown Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the First United Methodist Church of Springtown or the Scottish Rite’s Hospitals of Texas.
James was born Feb. 20, 1938 in Lampasas to the late John Gregory and Edrie McKissick. He had been a Springtown resident since 1964.
James served his country in the United States Army and worked 30 plus years as a commercial refrigeration mechanic. James was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springtown and was a devoted Life Member of the Masonic Lodge serving many offices for the Joplin Lodge #939 and Eureka Lodge 371 AF & AM, Past Master twice in a row and DDGM Grand Lodge of Texas in 1994.
He was responsible for the local lodge building remodel in 1985. In 1994 he was instrumental in obtaining the first state historical marker in Springtown which is located on the Masonic Lodge Building. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Springtown Chapter #498 of Springtown.
James was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce Gregory in 2008; brother, Franklin Ayers; and sister, Leta Dale Raulston.
Survivors include wife of 58 years, Jimmie Gregory; son, Paul Gregory and wife, Maria; brothers, Ronald Gregory and wife, Jo Ann, and Melton Kirk; sister, Patsy Garthwaite and husband, Ronald; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and numerous loving family members.

Billy Glenn Bass 1936 – 2016

Billy Glenn Bass, 79, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at home with his loving family by his side.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 27 in Jaybird Cemetery under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Bill was born June 18, 1936, at his family country home in Joplin to the late Alta Clare and Thorbin Bass. He was a strong Christian who loved his church, friends and singing with them in the choir.
Bill was a Mason, Past Master of Riverside Lodge #834 and Order of the Eastern Star. He loved playing his steel guitar and was a member of the TexasSteel Guitar Association. Bill was an avid deer hunter and loved to go fishing.
He worked for the Star-Telegram, starting at the age of 13, doing walking routes, then bought his first car, got his driver’s license and did car routes. Bill worked for Foremost Dairy for 10 years, Ernest Alen Chevrolet and Bruce Allen Chevrolet. He retired from Tarrant County after 23 years.
Bill was preced in death by his wife, Alice. The family wishes to thank all who cared for him during his last illness.
Survivors include wife of 63 years Virginia Bass; daughters, Glenda Bass, Brenda Harrist and husband, Jimmy, Debbie McIlroy and husband, Jim; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and the love of his life, his German shepherd, Shanna.

Lela Mae Lewis, 95 lovingly passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.
Service was held Saturday, Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m. at Greenwood in Fort Worth.
Lela was born on Dec. 23, 1920 to Ollie Mae Murphy Visage and Stanley Francis Visage, in Lockney, Texas.
Lela loved to dance and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She’s now dancing in Heaven with her loving friends and siblings who have passed on. We shall miss her with all our hearts.
Lela met and then married the love of her life, Richard Leland Lewis on September 7, 1948. They’ve lived in Azle, Texas for 52 years.
She was blessed with her husband, her son, Richard W. Lewis and grandsons, Richard Cameron Lewis and Connor D. Lewis.

Jana Marie Young, 66, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St., Azle. Committal: 11 a.m. Thursday in Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton, Kanas. Visitation: 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to careity.org, which is dedicated to providing oncology services for economically challenged cancer patients.
Jana was born in Manhattan, Kanas, Feb. 18, 1950, to Keith and Evelyn Garrison. Jana was a loving mother to five children, Kelly, Karen, Kasey, Becky and Kyler. Jana worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency and spent the majority of her career as a federal employee. In retirement, she enjoyed needle point, quilting, spending time with her grandchildren, and serving in her church.
Jana was preceded in death by her father, Harold Keith Garrison.
Survivors include her mother, Evelyn Garrison; husband, Ed Nelson; children, Kelly Garcia, Karen Banister, Kasey Young, Becky Nelson and Kyler Young; brothers, John Garrison, Russell Garrison and Glen Garrison; grandchildren, Isabella Garcia, Noah Garcia, Sadie Young and Ivy Kehoe; and a host of other loving relatives.

Gladys Keels, 84, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. Funeral service is at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, Angleton.
Burial: Immediately following at Angelton Cemetery.
Gladys was born November 12, 1931 in Marcus, Iowa to Samuel Thomas and Lena Arizona Richards. They both preceded her in death along with her husband, Marshall Keels and five brothers and three sisters. Kenneth Eugene Bankhead was born Feb. 18, 1941 in Lawndale, California to Charlie B. Bankhead and Irma Clara Waddle-Bankhead. Kenneth married Zelma “June” Rich. Together, they raised two sons and a daughter; Timmy Hudson, Kenneth Bankhead Jr. and Christyna Breitenstein. Kenneth also leaves ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Kenneth will be greatly missed.

Emagene Davis Cooper, passed in to the arms of Jesus, Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the age of 99 years.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in White’s Azle Chapel. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at White’s Azle Chapel.
Emagene was born December 22, 1916 in Italy, Texas to Eli and Bessie Beck Murphree. She raised four children.
Emagene loved to play music with the Humdingers Band at the Senior Citizen Center. She was a devoted Christian lady and was active in the GA’s at the Baptist Church. She lived in Azle for 95 years beginning school at 5 years and graduated from Azle High School.
Emagene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Garland Davis and Joe Cooper; son Phil Davis; daughter, Shirley Dodson; sisters, Mildred Woods, Nodie Griggs,and Betty Smith; brothers, Hoyt Murphree, Rufus Murphree, Bobby Murphree and Marcus Murphree; and granddaughter, Misty Hamilton and  grandson, Kelly Holden.
Survivors include sons, Billy Davis and wife, Elaine and Skipper Davis and wife, Mary; sister, Dorothy Hill; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members.

Shirley Sue Cox, 67, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 with her family by her side.
“Fun”eral Celebration will be held Saturday, March 12, 1-4 at The Abbey Church, 10400 Jacksboro Hwy, to share memories.
This world lost a very feisty, loving wife, mother (mom), nanny, sister, aunt and friend.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Her love was for her family, friends and her dog, Tinker Belle.
Her home was always open and the holidays would always be filled with family, love, laughter, food and decorations.
She loved crafts, painting, sewing and her doll collection.
Preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Faulkner, 2 brothers, James and Jackie Faulkner.
Survivors include husband of 48 years, Billy Cox, 3 sons, Cary Cox, Tim Cox, spouse Kim and Troy Cox, spouse, Joe. Sister, Gloria Rice, brother, Edward Faulkner; 6 grandkids; 3 great grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ramon Lopez, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral was held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Mount Olivet.
Ramon was born June 24, 1926, in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, June 8, 1951. Ramon was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy from June 6, 1944, to July 5, 1946. He moved to Texas where he met the love of his life, Lillian Allene, and married around the age of 39 in 1966. Ramon retired from General Dynamics in 1990.
He was a strong Christian and a great man of character. Ramon was a very loving husband, father and papaw. He had a quick wit about himself and a big smile for everyone he met. He loved watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.
Ramon was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Allene Lopez; parents, Victor M. and Grace M. Lopez (Foreman); brothers, Vincent and Lamont “Monty” Lopez, Gerald “Jerry” McCulloch and Victor Lopez, Jr.; and sisters, Victoria Riedl, Dolores Moore, Valetta Maher and Grace Sheehy.
Survivors: Twin daughters, Ramona Grace Vaughan and Carrie Allene Briggs (Gene), daughter, Nancy Williams (Dennis); sons, Mark Shields (Tammie), Randy Shields (Shannon) and Allen King; brother, Leon Lopez (Hurst); grandchildren, Blake Menchaca, Brandon Vaughan, Shannon Koenig, Justin Shields, Joshua Shields, Jordan Shields, Tyler Shields, Elizabeth Briggs, Paige Cunningham, Derek Briggs and Lillian Shields; and great- grandchildren, Cody Armstrong, Kaden Vaughan, Elliott Knox, Brody Vaughan, Autumn Koenig and Leia Shields.

Christian Shane Fonville 2001 – 2016

Christian Shane Fonville, 14, of Azle was welcomed into heaven Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, while surrounded by his family and enormous amounts of prayer.
Service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Azle. Committal was at 4 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Jones County. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Azle, 200 Church St. in Azle.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christian Shane Fonville Youth Foundation, c/o The National Bank of Texas, Azle Branch, 405 Commerce St., Azle, Texas 76020.
Christian was born in Fort Worth to Kyle and Christa Fonville on Aug. 25, 2001. Christian was in eighth grade at Azle Junior High South where he was an honor roll student and served as student council president. Christian was also an active member of the junior high tennis team and enjoyed helping coaches with the football team, as well as any other group or individual who needed a helping hand.
Christian was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Azle. He joyfully participated in the UPWARD basketball program as a player and a volunteer and as a member of the youth group.
In the short time Christian was with us he had a huge impact on those around him. His contagious smile paved the way for him to share God’s love with others. His daddy’s quick wit was apparent from early on and his mother’s caring ways evident in everything he did. He was a friend to everyone he touched and always brought joy to those around him. Young, old and everyone in between were quick to call him friend and Christian rarely met a stranger. But of all Christian’s friends – his spunky dog Spike was his best. Christian’s absence will be felt not only by his human friends, but his four-legged ones, too.
Survivors: Christian is survived by his loving parents, Kyle and Christa Fonville; his devoted sister, Kylie; paternal grandparents, Mary and Burl Fonville; maternal grandparents, Randy and Carol Davis; aunt, Jennifer Ashley and cousins, Jaron, Chase and Jeffrey; uncle and aunt, Mark and Jennifer Davis and cousins, Truman and Cash; uncle and aunt, Jason and Caren Williams and cousins, Cole, Lane and Jacy; in addition to numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Robert Lane Shearer, 57, a loved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away from cancer, on Sunday, March 6th, 2016, at a Fort Worth Hospital, with family by his side.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m, Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 S. Stewart, Azle, TX.
The youngest of 6 children, Robert was born in Azle on September 12, 1958 to Eartis and Anna Ketcham Shearer. He graduated from Azle High School in 1977 and was a talented carpenter/cabinet maker by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman/sportsman/hunter who spent many a day at the deer lease with his brothers, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a man of many hobbies and talents, including fishing, bow hunting, woodworking, lure making and arrowhead collecting and he sure could make a tasty campfire, tin foil, hobo dinner. He took great pleasure in giving everyone in the family a gift for Christmas. He was a good friend and mentor to his nephews, who thought he was pretty awesome (as well as his nieces) and they all will dearly miss him.
His parents and a niece, Chy Myers Shearer, preceded him in death. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by; brothers, Kenneth, Eddie (Sharon) of Azle and Guy (Donna) of Springtown; sisters, Nada and Olga, of Azle; nephews and nieces, Chad, Ryan (Carrie), Trey (Jeniffer) Shearer, Ashley Arellano, Dalley (Aaron) Galuzzi and Andrew (Cherie) Saunders; great-nephews and nieces, Jase, Skyler, Kenzie, Everly, Coltyn, Hunter, Gatlyn, Anna, Ethan, Evan, Owen, Sienna, Noelle and River; aunts, Luella Shearer of Azle and Pauline Naney of Colorado; uncle, Bob and aunt Irene Hasenack of Colorado; dear friend Gail Glover of Corpus Christi and numerous cousins and friends who were as close as brothers.

Michael Mozisek, 66, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
Michael was born July 8, 1949 in San Antonio to James Anthony and Isabelle Mozisek. He enjoyed working with computers, loved to watch western movies, especially John Wayne. Michael honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a Sargent. He was a wonderful family man, good at working on automobiles, especially his 72 Dodge Charger SE Edition, of which he was so proud.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dale Mozisek.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Allen and husband, Casey; son, Sean Mozisek and wife, Leana Mozisek; brother, James Mozisek; daughter, Kristin Alice Mozisek; and eight grandchildren.

Jack B. Pipla, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016.
Service was held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in White’s Azle Chapel. Interment will be held 11:15 A.M. Thursday at DFW National Cemetery.
Jack was born November 21, 1930 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to the late Joe and Artie Marie Pipla. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Jack was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from Arizona Public Service after 35 years.

John Charles Jicha, 59, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Azle. Interment follows at Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Azle.
John C. Jicha was born Oct. 12, 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William and Polly Jicha. John’s early life was spent living in the Philippines, Los Angeles, California and the U.S. Canal Zone in Panama in the company of his parents military assignments. He graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone in 1975. He married Carolyn Friese Jicha on Feb. 14, 2004. He resided in Fort Worth from 1975 to 2003 and moved to Azle in 2004.
John was employed by Delta Airlines in their maintenance facilities at DFW Airport. Most recent employer was RSMS in Saginaw. Health issues brought about early retirement which he spent in Azle with his wife Carolyn and children. John was active at First United Methodist Church of Azle. He enjoyed rock and roll trivia and loved golden retrievers.
He was preceded in death by his mother Polly Marlow Jicha.
Survivors include wife, Carolyn Friese Jicha; children, Amanda Sellards (Jeremy), Joshua Baase; father, William Jicha Sr.; grandchildren, Madelyn and Lily Sellards; best friend, Ernie Knott (Hazel), brother, William Jicha Jr. (Kathe); nephews, Greg Jicha (Samantha), Michael Jicha (Brittany).
