Bobby Dupree 1965-2014

Bobby Dupree, 49, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014.
Visitation from 2 to 4 P.M. Monday, Sept. 29 at White’s Azle Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.
Bobby was born Feb. 25, 1965 in Dallas. He attended Mineral Wells High School. Bobby married the love of his life, JuneLynn June 21, 1991 in Fort Worth. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Bobby was an auto mechanic and had lived in the Azle area for the past nine years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife, JuneLynn Dupree; daughters, Christina Dupree and Amber Dupree; sons, Preston Dupree and Allen Phillips; and five grandchildren.

Howard Charles Cummins 1951-2014

Howard Charles Cummins, 63, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Brock Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at Brock Baptist Church with burial to follow at Johnson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made payable to Brock Baptist Church Sports Recreation Center, 2111 FM 1189, Brock 76087.

Howard was born Feb. 23, 1951 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lake Hamilton High School, near Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1969. He attended Ouachita Baptist University on a basketball scholarship where he met and married his wife Rae D. He graduated in 1973 with a BSE in education.
Howard taught science and coached for 30 years. He retired in 2006 and was a self-employed real estate agent. He was a long time member, Sunday school teacher, and an ordained deacon of Brock Baptist Church. Howard was very active in the Brock community, volunteering his time for the school and other organizations.
His passions were spending time with family and friends, riding dirt bikes, and hunting.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nancy Cummins.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rae D. Cummins; son Zeb Cummins and wife Shay of Brock; daughter Katie Cummins and fiancé Micky Fulfer of Brock; grandsons Justin Cummins and soon-to-be Dylan Fulfer of Brock; granddaughters Candyce Fulfer of Brock and Mica Fulfer of Abilene; sisters Peggy Sullivan of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Patsy Scantlin and husband Ralph of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia Gene Waters Cole, 64, a stay at home mammie, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at home surrounded by her children.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Real Family Fellowship located at 202 Pearson Lane in Azle.
Patricia Gene Cole was born Oct. 25, 1949, in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Cole.
Survivors include sons John Charles Waters of Cedar Park; Barry Wade Cole of Austin; daughters Michelle Sisson of Springtown, April Cole of Azle; grandchildren Lee Patrick, Rylee Patrick, Destree Larson, Anthony Waters, Kya Cole, and Keri Cole.

Rebecca Maxine Hammersley Massey, 47, a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 in Azle, surrounded by those who loved her.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at First Church of Fort Worth in  White Settlement. Interment followed in Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle under the direction of Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home.

Rebecca was born May 10, 1967 in Fort Worth to James Robert and Carolyn Jean Purdy Hammersley. Her mother preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Massey; father, James Hammersley; sisters, Melinda Porter and Dana Odell; brother, James Hammersley, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family, all of whom will miss her very much.

Charolette Bostick, 54, a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, surrounded by those who loved her.
A funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 19, at Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home in Springtown.
Charolette was born June 11, 1960 in Fort Worth to Bobby Currier and Betty Finley.
Survivors include her parents, Betty and William Odom and Bobby Currier; children, Chris Roberts and companion Stephanie, Rachael Self and husband, James and Adriane Bostick and companion Bret; siblings, Vicki Row and Kevin Dixon; grandchildren, Shelby, Kyler, Bailey, Payton, Rylea, Noah and Naomi.

Patricia Smith Sinsel, 59, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 with her family by her side.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at Biggers Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time.
In Iieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shawl Ministry in care of  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, 75203.

Patricia Marilyn Smith was born Sept. 2, 1955 in Marquette, Michigan to Earle B. and Marilyn J. Smith. After marrying Glen Sinsel in 1972, they traveled extensively with the military and eventually settled down in Azle. Pat received her degree in nursing from the Maurine Church Coburn School of Nursing in Monterey, California. She worked as a registered nurse in a variety of medical settings and eventually chose to commit her career to the labor and delivery specialty, working in that capacity for the next 17 years.
Pat loved her role as a grandmother and was always in search of procuring something that would bring joy to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Earle B. Smith and her nephew, Thomas M. Kelly.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Sinsel of Fort Worth; Deanna Sinsel and husband Matt Lamarque of Monterey, California; her son, Jason Sinsel of White Settlement; her mother, Marilyn J. Smith of Azle; her sisters, Jean Poe of Decatur, Illinois; Peggy Scott and husband Mark of Azle; her brother, Michael Smith of Azle; her grandchildren, Anthony Sinsel, Alexia Lamarque, Sophia Lamarque and Autumn Sinsel will miss her terribly as well as countless nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the devoted and dedicated staff at Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas for their excellent care of Patricia during a difficult time.

A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 26 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Jerri was born in San Angelo May 23, 1938 to Nolan Travis and Laura Cates Murphy. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

Jerri was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Zipper; children, Sonya Kay Langham and Travis Leon Zipper.
Survivors include her children, Linda Mackey, Clay Zipper and wife, Katina, Lorie Wood and husband, David, Dale Zipper and wife, Pat, Shirley Dailey and husband, Steve and David Zipper; live-in grandchildren, Chris Mendoza and wife, Stephanie, Maggie Reeves and husband, Darrell and J. P. Smith and wife, Jonne; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Fox; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral service was held at River of Life Fellowship Church with interment at Azleland Memorial Park and Cemetery.
Mr. Perez was born in Monterrey, Mexico and retired from Chicago Great Northwestern Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Enedina, mother,  Maria Delrefugio Silva Perez; father, Rafael Perez, son, Jose Francisco Perez and daughter, Clara Debnar.

Survivors include his daughters, Janie Gutierrez, Manuela Moskal, Maria Perez, and Lourdes Gallegos; sons, Jesse Perez, Rafael Perez, Santos Perez and Vincent Perez.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ash Creek Baptist Church under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the Fields family suggests consideration of contributions in Christopher’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
Christopher Roy “Chief” Fields was born Nov. 2, 1953, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Roy and Christina Smith Fields. He graduated with the class of 1971 from Azle High School and attended the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship.

Christopher was self-employed and made his career as a surveyor and most recently was semi-retired. He met and married the former Ruby Jacobs 25 years ago in Lake Worth.
Christopher lived the majority of his life in Azle and Arlington and was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church. He was very proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Fields.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Fields of Azle; daughters, Colby Fields of Arlington and Natalie Worthen of Wisconsin; stepdaughter, Tammy Parker and husband, Rob, of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandsons, Robbie and Matthew Parker of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Wyatt Worthen of Wisconsin; sister, Vickie Jones of Azle; brother, Earle Fields of Azle; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Oklahoma; and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at White’s Azle Funeral Home followed by interment at Ash Creek Cemetery
Bobby Lee was born Dec. 22, 1929 in Azle to the late George Clifford and Katie Angeline Harwell Anderson.
He graduated from the Azle Rock School. Bobby and his wife were involved in the Western Wheeler Camper Club. He had been a member of the Aztec Saddle Club and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Bobby married Sue Watkins March 8, 1963 in Springtown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Jean Wiley.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Anderson; daughters, Dorothy Johnson and husband, Calvin of Springtown and Donna Shearer and husband, Guy Ray of Springtown; grandchildren, Angie Boren and husband, Mike, Curtis Johnson and wife, Cara, Trey Shearer and wife, Jeniffer, Ashley Arellano and husband, Jason; 10  great-grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Zackuline “Zack” Ann Tomlin went home to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 3, 2014 in Ft. Worth.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 at Victory Baptist Church, 1311 E. Bankhead Dr., Weatherford. Interment will follow at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at White’s Funeral Home in Springtown.
Zackuline “Zack” Ann Tomlin was born Jan. 28, 1945 to Zacheriah and Levia Leatherwood in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Springtown most of her life and graduated from Azle High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by all who met her. But above all she was a Christian who loved her Lord and Savior.

She was married to James Michael Tomlin on Aug. 30, 1980. She opened up her heart and adopted two children whom she loved more than anyone could ever understand. Zackuline never gave up on anything or anyone that she ever took on.
She was employed at GD/Lockheed Martin in 1966 and left in 1984 to become a stay at home mother to her first child and remained at home until 1996 when she returned to work at PDX Inc. working there until 2013.
Zackuline was preceded in death by her parents, Zach and Levia Leatherwood, and sister, Freda Lowe.
Survivors include; husband of 34 years, James (Mike) Tomlin of Springtown; son, Robert Tomlin of Fort Worth; daughter, Leah Zerbe and husband, Jason of Shamokin, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Emily Sejuit, Brianna Sejuit, and Kennady Zerbe of Shamokin, Pennsylvania; sisters, Carolyn Husley and husband, Larry, and Nowanah Corley; brother,  Maynard Leatherwood and wife, Beverly all of Springtown; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.

John H. Green, 50 a loving son and brother, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at home in Azle.
A  funeral service will be private.
He was born Oct. 26, 1963 in Ware, Massachusetts to John Henry Green, Sr. and Patricia St. Martin Walsh.
John worked as a crane operator for Texas Shafts for over 30 years, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Brooks Green in February, from cancer and also, by his father in December 2013.
Survivors include his mother, Pat Walsh and husband, Billy Stacy; sisters, Kelley Green and Holly Cook and husband, James; extended family and many friends.

Brandi Diane Dickey, 33, earned her angel wings at home on Oct. 3, 2014 after a strong fight with melanoma cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 S. Stewart St. in Azle.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Brandi Dickey’s name at Wells Fargo Bank for future use by the Brandi Dickey School Playground Shade Foundation.

Brandi, a lifelong area resident, was born, June 6, 1981 in Fort Worth and graduated from Azle High School in 1999.
She had a pure heart of gold, touching anyone’s life she came into contact with. She always loved Port Aransas and had some of her fondest memories there. Now you’re sitting on the beach Brandi, you have eternity in Paradise!
Brandi was preceded in death by her Papa, Emmitt Wayne Dickey of Azle.
Survivors include her mother, Paula Thornton Pittsinger; father, Emmitt Wayne Dickey, Jr. or “Bubba”; step-mother, Pam Dickey; grandparents, Ed and Olivia Elam, James and Shirley Thornton and Sue Dickey; brother, Christopher Shane Dickey; aunt, Jennifer Thornton Atkinson; nieces, Gracie Dickey and Emma Dickey; nephew, Zachary Eudy; and countless other family members, friends, children and loved ones who were blessed to have been a part of her life and journey.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at the Azle Church of Christ under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ash Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s name to Christian Homes of Abilene, 1202 Estates Dr., Abilene, Texas  79602.
John was born Dec. 30, 1941 in Dallas to the late J. Floyd and Helen McLemore Clouse. He graduated from Azle High School in 1960 and attended North Texas State University graduating in 1964. John married the love of his life, Earlene Slate in Springtown on July 21, 1967.

He was a member of the NRA, TSRA, Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and was an alumni life member of the FFA and recipient of the Lone Star Farmer Degree. John was a faithful member of the Azle Church of Christ. He retired from TEC now known as Texas Workforce Commission after 30 years of service.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jerry Lynn Clouse in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Earlene Clouse of Azle; sister, Wadene Harrison of Austin; brother-in-law, Bobby Slate and wife, Tami; sister-in-law, Darlene Pennington and husband, Lee; nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Richard David Weston 1949 – 2014

Dick was born July 18, 1949 in Amarillo and was a resident of Azle for 31 years until his death.
He attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico and West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.
Richard married Carolyn Brown, Sept. 20, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was a member of the PGA for 33 years, an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and grillmaster.
He was also a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Carolyn; son, Josh Weston and wife Amy of Azle; daughter, Cayce Sheay Feemster and husband Mark of Azle; granddaughter, Weslee Feemster; grandsons, Hunter Weston, John Weston Feemster, Samuel Feemster, and baby Feemster expected to arrive April 2015.

Orville Daryl Burnett 2014

Obit-Azle-Orville-Daryl-Burnett-C-Orville Daryl Burnett passed away Sept. 14, 2014 at the age of 90 while doing what he loved most: traveling. Our country lost another World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veteran.
Daryl and his late wife, Rita, will be interred at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20.
Daryl retired from the USAF and moved to Azle in 1964. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rita Clair Burnett, and son Daryl Lee Burnett.
Survivors include two daughters, Alene Reaugh and husband Jim and Demerise Esparza and husband Edwin; three sons, David Burnett and wife Mindy, Chris Burnett and wife Lynn and Pat Burnett and wife Karen; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters Frances Jarvis and Dorothy Steele; and brother Ross Burnett.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Brock, 2111 FM 1189, Brock, Texas 76087. Interment at Johnson Cemetery, Dennis. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

Audrey, daughter of Margaret and Leonard Sugars, was born in Brisbane, Australia. She met her husband, Jim, when he was posted to Brisbane after surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. After meeting at a local church, Jim wrote her every day over the course of their five year courtship. Audrey traveled to San Francisco in January, 1947, for her reunion with her fiancée (the ring had been delivered by one of Jim’s sailor friends). Four days after she arrived, Audrey and Jim were married and moved to Idaho, where Jim was in school. After school, they moved to Illinois where a son, and her daughter, Rae D. Willis Cummins were born and then settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where the last of their four children, twin sons were born. In Atlanta, Audrey developed a business as a caterer and then established her own shop, Northwoods Florist, running it successfully for more than 35 years. Audrey was never too busy for friends and family. Every employee she ever had called her, “Mama” and friendships made in her twenties endure today. She and Jim worked tirelessly for their church, establishing a Bible Chapel in Atlanta. After Jim’s retirement, they moved to Azle, and after Jim’s death, she moved to Weatherford. Audrey moved to Martin Crest Assisted Living in 2009 where she made many dear friends. She was the best Granny ever to her grandchildren, Zeb and Katie Cummins, Michael Willis and Lindsey Willis Vaughn and Courtney Willis Shulin. She was Granny Great to her five great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to see her extended family in Brisbane, Australia and could always be called upon to create beautiful flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, James Ray Willis; and her oldest son, Daniel Ray Willis.
Survivors include her daughter, Rae Cummins, of Brock; sons, Jim Willis and wife, Robin, and John Willis and wife, Polly; five grandchildren, Michael Willis and wife, Lynne, Zeb Cummins and wife, Shay, Lindsey Vaughn and husband, Travis, Courtney Shulin and husband, Russell, Katie Cummins and fiancée, Micky; five great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild to be; her sister, Jean Chisholm and husband, John of Australia; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Azle Church of Christ.
Betty was born Dec. 16, 1955, in Harlingen, daughter of Troy Earl and Lora Gene Keener Nix. She graduated from Carter Riverside High School and was a member of the Azle Church of Christ. Among Betty’s hobbies, in the summertime she liked to water ski.

The Nix family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bobby Shriver for his love and help.
Betty was preceded in death by her father in 1991.
Survivors include her mother, Jeannie Payne; brother, Tony Nix; sister, Ruby Lee Winslow; nieces and nephews, Nancy Winslow, Carrie Crawford, Anthony “Little Tony” James Winslow.

Bill was resident of Azle/Springtown and was a billboard installer. He attended Weatherford College. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, member of the Lions Club and local T-ball and baseball coach.

Survivors include wife, Dianne Campbell; daughter, Denna Barnett of Springtown; sons, Billy Barnett and Larry Barnett both of Springtown; brother, King Barnett of Poolville; brother, Chuck Barnett of Springtown; and six grandchildren.

Louis Howard “Toby” Knight, 81, passed away Friday, Oct 10, 2014.

Toby was born Aug. 21, 1933, to George and Floy Mae in Reno, Texas. Toby graduated from Springtown High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a machinist at Bell Helicopter until his retirement in 1995.

Toby was preceded in death by his wife Maxine and great-grandchild Chelsea.
Survivors include children, Dennis Knight (Shirley), Douglas Knight, and Pamela Meyer (Mike); nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and brother, Alfred Harold “Caddy” Knight of Alabama.
