Stephen Marvin “Steve” Taber, 68, a retired master sergeant police officer for White Settlement went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at his home in Azle.
No services are scheduled.
Steve was born on Nov. 22, 1945 to Edmond and Willie (Cummings) Roberts in Azle, Texas. He was united in marriage to Karen Brown on Jan. 9, 1986 in White Settlement. He graduated from Azle High School and was a veteran of the Air Force Reserves. Steve was also a reserve deputy of the Palo Pinto Sheriff’s Department and a deputy constable for the Parker County Sheriff’s Department.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepfathers, Stanley Marvin Taber and Ben Hayes.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Taber of Azle; his son, Noal Richard Brown and wife Lindsey of Springtown; his daughter, Natalie Culberson and husband Tye of Stephenville; his grandchildren, Serinity, Kayla, Cayti, Trint, Tevin and Rae Ann; his sisters, Darling Hurst and husband Jim of Oregon and Glenda Goodman of Oregon; other family members and a host of friends.

Georgia Ellen Reynolds, 74, florist and devoted mother and wife, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 26, 2014 at Azleland Cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Beatrice Snider; and her son, David Rueb.
Survivors include her husband Don; daughter, Pam Neighbors of Azle; one grandson and three great-grandchildren.

Richard (Devin) O’Dom, 53, of Azle passed away, on Aug. 21, 2014 peacefully at his home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
Devin was born to the late Clyde (David) O’Dom and Rosalie O’Dom of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Survivors include daughter, Roxann Whitwell and her husban Bryan; granddaughter, Landon Sky Nacole of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Dalton of Arlington; two brothers, David O’Dom and wife Sherry of Azle, Darren O’Dom and wife Simone of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Sabrina and husband Don Rodgers of Chandler, Arizona. Devin was loved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both old and new. He will surely be missed by all.

A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home.
In lieu of the usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas or the Azle Animal Shelter.
Vernelle Thomas was born May 17, 1920 to Harry Lee and Mamie Letitia Warren Thomas in Fort Worth. She graduated from Keller High School and attended Brantley Drawn Business School. Vernelle married the love of her life, Rembert Adam Thomas in March of 1938 and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1992. She was a member of Desk and Derrick Club and worked for many years at Sinclair Oil Company.

Vernelle was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rembert Adam Thomas; her parents, Harry and Mamie Thomas; and brother, Charles Edward Thomas.
Survivors include son, Jim Thomas and wife, Glenda, of Keller; daughter, Lassie Salitore and husband, Fred, of Azle; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at White’s Azle Chapel, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. Interment at Azleland Memorial Park.
Visitation from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Pandra was born Jan. 7, 1987 in Azle to A. W. Teater and Tina Louise Oliver Hunter and was raised in Azle.

She was an Iraq veteran, lived, worked and went to school in Waco attending Tarleton.
Survivors include mother, Tina Hunter and husband, John of Waco; father, Arnold “A.W.” Teater and wife, Maria of Azle; sisters, Tishe Sharp of Azle, Tanya Carter of Keller, Gilsila Voncken of Holland, Andrea Balcazar and Claudi Balcazar of Lima, Peru; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends in the U.S., Europe and South America.

James “Cannonball” Lawrence, 73, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of White’s Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.

James Howard Lawrence was born Jan. 27, 1941, in Monticello, Arkansa, son of the late Edwin T. and Mary Kate Smith Lawrence. “Cannonball”, for 50 years, made his career as a master electrician and was a member of IBEW Local Union 116.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife of 55 years, Rosetta Lawrence of Azle; children, Jerry Lawrence and wife, Paula, Jenee Blackwell and husband, Robert, John Lawrence and wife, Kelly, Jeff Lawrence and wife, Mollie, James L. Lawrence and wife, Helen; brothers, Charles Lawrence and Terry Weddle; sisters, Sandra Coleman and Kathy Turner and husband, Ronnie; cousin, Robert Tanner; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.

Frederick Dean Geisler, 85, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Fred will be buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, next to his wife.
Fred was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1929, to John Geisler and Velma Smith. He grew up in Somerset and graduated from Somerset High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Helen Adzima in 1953 and they had three daughters. Fred moved to Danville, Indiana, Hastings, Michigan and Denver, Colorado while working for and retiring from Hastings Manufacturing Company. He moved to Azle in 2013 to be near family. Fred’s interests included metal and wood machine shop work, automobiles and racing.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2000.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Straub of Nampa, Idaho, Carol Hunten of Azle and Barbara Oyer of Lansing, Michigan; grandsons, Timothy Hunten and Derek Hunten of San Mateo, California, Ryan Hunten of Dallas, Brandon Oyer and Brian Oyer of Lansing, Michigan; and sister, Severine Kyles of Mineola, Texas.

John Raymond Tafoya, 15, a loving son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.
A funeral was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment was at 3 p.m. Monday in Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood.
John Raymond was born Oct. 21, 1998, in Fort Worth.
We love you, John, and you will be missed.

Travis Jay Rolfing 26, passed away Saturday Aug. 16, 2014 in Surprise, Arizona.
A memorial service was held for Staff Sergeant Rolfing USAF Aug. 20, 2014 at Luke Air Force Base, Glendale AZ.  Travis was buried with full military honors on Aug. 23, 2014 at the Howell Family Cemetery, Wildcat Springs Ranch Stonewall, Oklahoma.

Travis was born on Oct. 3, 1987 in Rawlins, Wyoming.  Travis graduated from Azle High School in 2006, he grew up hunting and fishing so it came as no surprise when he attained Eagle Scout. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Assignments included 8th Civil Engineer Squadron, Kunsan Air Base, Korea serving as a Pavement and Heavy Equipment Apprentice, and 56th Civil Engineer Squadron at Luke Air Force Base as a Pavement and Heavy Equipment Craftsman. Travis married his wife Adrianne Peña on Feb. 2011, before deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his return Travis and Adrianne welcomed their daughter Nelliel into the world on July 8, 2013. Travis deployed a second time in March 2014 to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Survivors include his wife Adrianne; daughter, Nelliel; his parents Barry and Sandy Rolfing; grandmother, Hannah and numerous aunts and uncles.

Jean Thomas, longtime resident of Knox City, Texas, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, in Azle, Texas.
Graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday Sept. 4, 2014, at Knox City Cemetery with Rev. Leon Burkham officiating and under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation  was Wednesday evening, Sept. 3 from 6-7 p.m., at the funeral home in Knox City located at 210 Ave. A.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Church of Christ in Azle.
If desired memorials can be given in Jean’s name to American Cancer Society, 3402 N 1st St, Abilene, TX 79603 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Jean was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Knox City, Texas to John Thomas Berryhill and Lillie Anna (Morris). She married Victor Thomas on July 2, 1942, in Marrietta, Oklahoma. Jean was a Future Homemaker Mother and Gifted and Talented Mother at Knox City High School. She loved taking care of others. Jean owned ‘Jeans Dress Shop’ in Knox City for 9 years. She was a beloved church member of Church of Christ in Knox City and Azle, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Berryhill; husband, Victor Thomas; and daughter, Carol Jean Crowson.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Newsom of Azle and Roy Ooten; grandchildren, Brandon Nealson and wife Leea of Keller, Karae Wright of Sweetwater, Texas, Jason Crowson and wife Kristina of Phoenix, Arizona, and Troy Crowson of Utah; two great-grandchildren. Ashley Wright Green and Justin Wright; and three great-great-grandchildren Gunner Green, Hailey Wright, and Kensie Wright.

Michael McHale passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 in Los Angeles.
Funeral service for Michael McHale, age 61, of Jacksonville, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with Craig Harris officiating. Interment with Military Honors was at Poynor Cemetery in Poynor.
Pallbearers were provided by the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 5, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. McHale was born March 13, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX. He grew up the majority of his life in Azle. During high school, he played football and was a member of the Golden Gloves boxing club. Michael’s accomplishments included that he was a 1970 Golden Gloves Middle Weight Champion and only lost one fight. He graduated with honors from Azle High School in 1971.
Michael received an appointment to the Coast Guard Academy in 1971.  After attending the Academy, he then enlisted in the Air Force in 1973. He married Linda O’Riley and became the father of two children, Timothy Michael McHale and Kimberly McHale Tull.
While in the Air Force Reserve, he was deployed to Desert Storm in 1991. Michael also worked as a logistic engineer for General Dynamics for ten years. He then relocated to Robins Air Force and continued his military career. While in Georgia he met and married Phyllis Purvis.
Michael understood the value of higher education and achieved his Masters Degree in Science from Georgia College. He continued his career until eventually retiring from the Air Force in 2003. In 2007, he accepted a position in California as a civil servant for Aerospace Logistics Department of the Air Force. While in California, Michael was considered a valuable member of their team upon his death in 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Jennia McLane McHale.
Survivors include his son, Timothy McHale and wife Mackenzie of Ft. Worth; daughter, Kimberly McHale Tull and husband Dustin of Ft. Worth; sisters, Bonnie Conley of Tyler, Jenolin Herrington and husband Michael of Brushy Creek, brother, Edward McHale and wife Evelyn of Frankston; and three grandchildren, Lochlan McHale, Sullivan McHale, and Isaac Tull.

Anita Louise Presley Allen, 56, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at home surrounded by those who loved her.
Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in Ashcreek Cemetery, under the direction of Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home, Springtown.
Anita was born Aug. 6, 1958 in Dallas to Earl Wayne and Roxy Joy Baker Presley; they both preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Kenny Brown; children, David Allen, Jason Allen and wife, Ashley, and Charlene Tomas; and grandchildren, Shelbee, Kiana, Mason and Memphis.

Weldon E. “Don” Phillips died Sept. 6, 2014 at  his home in Fort Worth.
At Mr. Phillips request, there will be no funeral service. A private memorial will be held for the family.
Weldon was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Windgate, Texas to John and Ruby Phillips. Mr. Phillips was active in humanitarian organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister at birth, Lillian Imagene; sister, Noma Edgin; brother Jesse Barron, and his partner Jim Hainline.

Survivors include two brothers, Norman Phillips of Bells, Texas, L.C. Phillips Sr. and wife Pat of Fort Worth; two sisters, Ruth Gandy of Rockport and Ramona Peck of Longview, formerly of Azle and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Meredith J. Singleton, 76, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away, Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at home.

Meredith was born March 16, 1938 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Meredith and Nandie Lea Singleton, they both preceded him in death.

Dana Geffert Klapp, 53, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 in Fort Worth.

Dana was born Sept 8, 1961 in Fort Worth to Paul Edward Geffert and Bonnie Jean Ford. She loved her children and grandchildren. Dana loved her sister she was her best friend. She called her mother everyday. Dana loved her family and wanted to be around them as much as possible. She loved cats and gardening.

Dana was preceded in death by her brother, Bret Geffert.

Robert Joseph Collins, 94, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 in Azle. Service and Interment: Rose Hills Memorial Park in Alhambra, California. Mr. Collins was born in Buffalo, New York, has lived in Alhambra, California for many years before moving to Azle 2 years ago. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Medic at Pearl Harbor and in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge. Bob graduated from The University of Southern California and in 1957 became a Pharmacist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Collins; brother, Charles Collins; sisters, Sally PeQueen and Patricia Wisenski.
Survivors include his brother, Richard Collins; and six nieces and nephews.

James Wade Baldwin passed away on Sept. 7, 2014.
A private family memorial was held at Toledo Bend Lake.
James was born July 19, 1946 to L. W. and Virginia Baldwin in Fort Worth. He graduated from Azle High School in 1964 and attended and played football at the University of Texas. He led a full life letting his passion take him to many places. He was a ranch hand in Montana, a logger in the mountains of Canada and driller in the oil fields of Texas and the Persian Gulf. When he returned to Texas, his passion for hunting and fishing developed into a fishing guide business on Sam Rayburn Lake as well as writing articles for fishing magazine “Honey Hole”. After many years, he moved to Toledo Bend Lake where he retired and was presently residing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Michelle.

Survivors include brother, Gary Baldwin and wife Linda; sister, Betty Blasingame; niece, Jennifer Stonecipher, and husband, John; nephew, Jerral Baldwin and wife, Dilia; great-nieces, Savannah, Whitney and Reagan; great-nephews, Blayne and Bryan.

Charlie Kelley Stegall, Jr., 90, of Azle, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2014 in Fort Worth.
There will be a memorial to celebrate his life on a date to be determined at a later time.
Charlie was born in Taylor County near Abilene on Nov. 17 1923.  He moved to Azle in 1963. For 50 years he was employed by Zack Burkett Road Construction and Brown and Blakney Road Construction.  He was once voted the best blade man in Texas. He was also a carpenter on his own time and built his home, furniture and many beautiful items for family and friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Millie Mrytle Henley Stegall; wife, of 45 years, Betty Jo Hastings Stegall and daughter Denetta Charlene Nations.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Stegall of Azle; daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Jimmie of Azle; daughter, Patricia Patrick and husband Jim of Littlefield; daughter, Veree Patterson and husband Jason of Azle; grandchildren, Sheree Gailey of Littlefield, Trice Mooneyham and wife Jessice, Caleb Mooneyham and wife Megan of Springtown, Carey Nations and wife Carla of Azle, Tori Prothro of Lubbock, Wyatt Nations of Granbury, Stefanie Ervin and husband David of Azle, Larry Smith and wife Christy of Azle, Jacinda Owen and husband Darrell of Allen, Cameron Andrews of Azle, and Beau Stegall Andrews of Azle; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother in-law Bob Edwards and wife Mary of Denison; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
