Maxine Richardson, 75, of Azle passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 212 Pearson Lane, Azle.
Maxine was preceded in death by her father, Fred Rogers; husband, James Paul Richardson; brother, Oliver Rogers; and sister, Evelyn Nelon.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Thomas; children, Gail Dollar (James Braswell) of Azle, Rhonda Ritchey (Brian) of Azle and Glenn Richardson (Carol) of Springtown; siblings, Johnny Rogers (Juanita) and Oleta Mincy (Dennis); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Theresa Ann Anderson
Theresa Ann Anderson, 52, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at a local hospital with her family by her side.
A memorial service was held May 18 at the Azle Central Park Pavilion.
Theresa Ann was born June 28, 1960, in Alpena, Michigan to Gordon Glen and Rita Ann Anderson. She was a former employee of Motorola and New Breed in Fort Worth. She enjoyed garage sales, quilting, extreme couponing and attending fund raising events.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father in 2005.
She is survived by her loving family: mother, Rita Anderson; sisters, Brenda Anderson of Azle and Donna Kimberly and husband, Lester; brothers, Robert and David Anderson; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

O.B. Jordan 1916 – 2013
O.B. Jordan, 97, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Fort Worth.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth with Vaughn Baker of Silver Creek United Methodist Church officiating.
O.B. was born on May 15, 1916, in Dallas and was the only child of Oscar B. and Beryl Jordan. They moved to Fort Worth about 1930 where he graduated from Central High School in 1935. During the early ‘30s, he delivered telegrams for Western Union throughout the city of Fort Worth by bicycle. In the late ‘30s and early ‘40s, he worked in the shoe department at Everybody’s Department Store. He married Geraldine (Jerry) Tucker of the Silver Creek community on June 7, 1941, and they lived in Fort Worth until he joined the Army in August of 1942. He served with the 59th Quartermaster Sales Company as a commissary steward in the European Theater. After his return from WWII, O.B. and Jerry made their home in Azle for the remainder of their lives. He was a long time member and served as chief of the Azle Volunteer Fire Department. In the 1950s, he worked as a tool designer for Bell Helicopter and at Convair, now Lockheed, in Fort Worth. He was proud to have designed a part of the B-58 as well as the tools necessary to produce the part. Later, he operated an appliance repair service in Azle for several years before he started a machine shop that he operated from his home on Main Street for many years. After working as a substitute for several years, he carried a rural mail route full time for the Azle Post Office from which he retired in the 1980s. As a retirement job, O.B. raised cattle on the family’s Silver Creek farm for a few years before a drought forced him out of the cattle business. He was a member of Azle Masonic Lodge 601 and was presented with his 65 year pin in July of 2012.
O.B. was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jerry.
Survivors include his daughter, Joan Campbell and husband, Leon; grandsons, Bryan Campbell and wife, Britney and Kevin Campbell and wife, Chris; and great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Quinn, Mackenzie and Kailey Campbell.

Rowena Grace Reynolds King, 88, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, in Azle.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23 in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Mrs. King was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Fort Worth to Henry Lee Reynolds and Grace Winnie Armstrong Reynolds. She married James Richard King on March 18, 1942, in Weatherford. They lived in Fort Worth for 23 years before building a new home in Euless, living there together for 28 years before Mr. King’s death Nov. 27, 1993. In Feb. 2003, Mrs. King moved to Springtown to be near family. She retired from the School of Nursing with The University of Texas System at Arlington on Jan. 31, 1985. She had been a longtime member of the Fort Worth Wedgwood Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Her life was filled with family and she was happiest with everyone around her. Her sweet smile and loving ways will be greatly missed.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years of marriage, James; both parents; brother, Kenneth Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Charles Connell Miller.
Survivors include her son, Gary R. King and wife, Sandra of Alvarado; daughter, Jimmie Wilson and husband, Robert of Springtown; sister, Eloise Miller, of North Port, Florida; sister-in-law, Juanita Roach and husband, John of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Linda S. Mosley, 69, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. She was surrounded by all her family.
Celebration of life will be on Friday, May 24 at the First Baptist Church of Castle Hills at 401 Beverly, Azle, 76020. Visitation will held on Thursday, May 23 at Brown, Owens and Brumley’s Funeral Home, located at 425 S. Henderson, Fort Worth, 76104.
Linda loved being a volunteer for the mission house at her church for many years. She also had a passion of collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans to help people with disabilities, which the family plans to carry on in her memory. There will be a collection for tabs at the funeral. She had a passion for caring for people of all ages, especially for the the elderly. She was a certified nurse’s aid for most all of her working career.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Freda Lehr; great-grandchild, Caleb Reeves; and great-nephew, Clayton Booth.

Alex Thomas 1927 – 2013
Alex Thomas of Springtown went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 20, 2013.
Alex was a longtime, faithful member of Springtown Church of Christ where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23 with visitation following at the church. Per his request, his body has been donated to the University of North Texas at Fort Worth.
Alex was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Fort Worth to Alex Thomas Sr. and Nancy Waldrop Thomas. He graduated from Springtown High School, Class of 1946. Soon after graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Johnnie Hugh Springfield. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26, 2013. Except for a few years with Halliburton Oil Company in Kilgore, he spent his life in the Springtown area. He became a barber in his early 20’s and remained so until his retirement, owning shops in both Azle and Springtown. Alex descended from an early pioneer family and was proud to own land northeast of Springtown that has been in the Thomas family for more than 150 years. He continued to farm and raise cattle as his ancestors before him had done.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Ronald Wayne Thomas.

B. Aileen “Mommadoo” McNiel, 85, of Lakeside entered into eternal peace on Sunday, May 19, 2013, surrounded by her family.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 23 at Springtown Cemetery under the direction of White’s Azle Funeral Home. Aileen was born in Pecos on June 16, 1927, daughter of the late John Hugh and Pearl Teague Barnes. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1944 and was the wife of USAF veteran Earl Weldon McNiel Sr. for 47 years until his death in May 1998. As a spouse of a career military serviceman, at many times she became the surrogate head of the household while her husband served at home and overseas. At the drop of a hat, she was able to successfully transport and provide a loving home for her children in numerous locations even in the frozen tundra of North Dakota. She was a lover of classical and religious music and anything her children or grandchildren were involved in. She was a woman of faith who cherished her fellowship with other church members. She regularly donated to charitable organizations close to her heart. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mansfield Nursing and Rehabilitation for their excellent care of our mother.

Dorothy Lee Taylor Penrod, 82, of Springtown passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona from injuries sustained in an accident.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3 at White’s Funeral Home in Springtown. Burial will follow at Authorn Cemetery in Garner. White’s Funeral Home of Springtown is in charge of the arrangements. A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 2.
This amazing woman known as Dottie by many was born Nov. 16, 1930, to Lloyd and Annie Mae Taylor. She has a brother, Billy who, along with her parents, preceded her to heaven. Born and raised in Garner, Dorothy graduated from Tech High School in 1949 in Fort Worth. Not long after, she was united in marriage to her late husband Charles Dillon Penrod on Dec. 2 and began making a family. Dottie was a beautiful, kind and generous soul who always put the well-being of others before herself. All those who knew her were blessed to have her in their lives. She will be missed.
Today, Dorothy is survived by her sons, Charles Dwain Penrod and wife, Dona of Azle, Ricky Wayne Penrod and wife, Analyn of Los Angeles and Gregory Allen Penrod of Springtown; daughters, Teresa Ann Griffin of Los Angeles and Connie Machelle Penrod of Seagoville; grandchildren, Jehromie, DeAnna, Brandiegh, Alan, Jared, Jordan, Emily, Amanda, Ross and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Alexus, Rhyan, Andyn, Samantha, Kylie and Oliver; several nieces and nephews including Michael Steven Penrod who always referred to her as Mom; aunt, Romayne McCreary, 92 years young of Weatherford; cousins; and numerous friends.

Lois Ruth McKenzie, 87, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at a local care facility after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Lois was born May 8, 1926, to Houston and Bertha Bolt in Wright County, Missouri. She graduated in 1944 from high school in Norwood, Missouri and worked as a riveter building bombers for the duration of World War II. She came to Fort Worth on May 15, 1948, to marry H.L. McKenzie Jr. She was a homemaker raising their four children, Allan, Kathleen, Lowell and Michelle. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lakeside. She enjoyed flower gardening, oil painting and traveling.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Norman, John and Frank.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, H.L. Anna Lee Christophe, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her residence.

Anna Lee was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Bell County to Vince and Albina Dusek. She was a retired cake decorator for Winn Dixie. She had been a member of LaJunta Baptist Church since 1946. She married the love of her life, Frank Allen Christophe, Nov. 11, 1938.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Jim Dusek, William Dusek Sr. and Jessie Alvin Dusek; and sister, Ella Petrek.

Mary Margaret “Peggy” McComas Carey, 90, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, in Fort Worth surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born in Indian Mound on Jan. 19, 1923, to John Thomas Henry McComas and Ruth Stephens McComas. She spent most of her life in Azle where she was a homemaker, private nurse and avid gardener. She attended Eagle Mountain International Church until her health declined. She was married to Henry Thomas “Red” Carey, on July 12, 1940, in Fort Worth.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Edith McComas McClanahan; brother, John Griffin McComas; and son, Henry Thomas “Tommy” Carey Jr.

Billy Thomas Frantom Jr., 58, beloved husband and father passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Azle.
The service was held Tuesday, June 4 at White’s Funeral Chapel in Springtown. Interment followed at the Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Tommy was born Oct. 29, 1954, in West Monroe, Louisiana to Billy Frantom Sr. and the late Gay Hibbard Frantom. He served five years in the United States Marine Corp., was a graduate of the University of Houston, owned and operated the Hot Skillet Restaurant in Alvord from 2002-2008 and Shinola’s Texas Cafe in Springtown since 2008. On Feb. 6, 2005, he married his wife, Robin in a ceremony at the Hot Skillet in Alvord.
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Gay Hibbard Frantom; and brother, “Sonny” Frantom and his Little Bella.
Survivors include his wife, Robin; daughters, Olivia, Cassie and Lisa; sons, Kyle, Bryan and Neil; eight grandchildren; father, Billy T. Frantom; brother, Joe Frantom; sister, Renee Love and husband, David; numerous nieces and nephews; and all his Shinola’s family.

William “Bill” Tennison 1923 – 2013
William “Bill” Tennison (Uncle Bill), 89, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013.
Bill was born Nov. 16, 1923, to Loid Evert and Lillie Pearl Tennison. He served with the United States Army during World War II during which time he was held as a P.O.W. by the German military for six months until he was liberated by the Russian army. He and his brother, Loid were the owners of Tennison Brothers Violin and Music Store for many years until retirement in 1991. He was a faithful and longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church where he served in many capacities throughout the church. He was married to Jewel Carey on Nov. 13, 1943, in Fort Worth.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Carey Tennison; brother, Loid Tennison; sister, Joyce June Tennison Andrews and husband, Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Erma was born in Cisco to Robert and Nancy Murphy in 1924. She was a resident of Agnes for 23 years as well as a member of the Agnes Baptist Church. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed bird watching. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt to many.
Erma was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and husband of 70 years, David Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Jones and Pat Smith; sister, Verna Jones; niece, Paulette Smith; nephews, Gerald Darr, Royce Darr, Gene Darr, Theron Darr and Jimmy Darr; beloved dog, Rowdy; and many other great nieces and nephews.

Todd B. Grimes, 59, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Todd was born to Robert Corwin and Garnet Irene Grimes Oct. 17, 1953, in Beardstown, Illinois. He had been “Head of Coal” for Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) where he had been employed for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan and a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church. He and wife, Linda were married April 11, 1982, in Fort Worth.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Michael Grimes.

Richard D. Whitt, 71, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, at his home with his loving family at his side.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at the Azle Church of Christ, 336 NW Parkway, Azle. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7 at Sinnett Cemetery, Cleveland, Oklahoma. Richard was born in Bonham to Loy and Lola Whitt. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He and wife, Judy were married Sept. 23, 1966. He was a member of the Azle Church of Christ. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 39 years. He loved bass fishing and hunting with his friends and classic cars.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Judy Whitt of Azle; sons, Richie Whitt and wife, Delisa of Boyd and Rusty Whitt and wife, Amber of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Holly and Mason Whitt; and a host of loving friends.

Laverl Wilson, 83, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at a Fort Worth Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Laverl was born May 18, 1930, in Paradise to the late David Andrew and Esther May Pearson. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1947. She married the love of her life, Billy Wilson on Sept. 3, 1950. They were married for 33 years at the time of his passing. She retired after many years with the Springtown ISD. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening, cracking pecans with a hammer on the back porch and shelling peas. She had a servant’s heart and also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. Her mother’s family were the founding members of the Cottondale Church of Christ. All of her grandchildren were baptized at the Cottondale Church of Christ.
Laverl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy George Wilson; daughter, Evelyn Sue Wilson; and brother, David Andrew Pearson III.

James “Jim” Wilson Bottoms, 69, a poet and journeyman electrician died Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
A memorial service was held Monday, June 10 at Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Worth.
Jim was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Like; and parents, Dota Mae Chipman and James E. Bottoms.
